Nichole Lewis

Nic is a highly accomplished professional operating at the forefront of safety, leadership, and organisational performance. She holds a Bachelor of Science with Honours in Psychology and a Master of Business Administration, and brings over 20 years of experience across construction, mining, manufacturing, heavy industry, and government in four countries.

Nic has consulted for prominent companies including BlueScope Steel, The Ministry of Health, Rio Tinto, and Suncorp Bank, helping organisations navigate complex safety and workforce challenges with evidence-based, people-first strategies. She has been instrumental in designing and executing the safety leadership strategies for two of BlueScope Steel’s most significant capital works projects:

* The No. 6 Blast Furnace Reline Project, a $1.15 billion infrastructure initiative critical to Australia's steelmaking future.
* The Plate Mill and Walking Beam Furnace Upgrade a $300 million project modernising core production capability and environmental performance at Port Kembla.

In 2024, Nic’s contributions to workplace mental health were internationally recognised when she received highly commended in the Duty of Care Awards from the International SOS Foundation for a pioneering mental health program she designed and implemented at BlueScope Steel. That same year, she was honoured with the Australian Institute of Health and Safety’s award for Best WHS Learning and Development Program, for a 3 day safety leadership program she designed and delivered across the country to over 900 leaders, further cementing her leadership in safety and workforce wellbeing.

Trained in Human and Organisational Performance (HOP), Nic applies data-informed analysis and operational learning models to drive real-world improvements. Her approach combines rigour with relatability, earning the trust of executive leaders, frontline teams, and industry regulators alike.

Nic also serves on the board of the Raising the Bar Foundation, a not-for-profit focused on improving mental health awareness and communication in hospitality and tourism.

With a unique ability to integrate safety science, psychology, and business, Nic is a sought-after advisor and thought leader in safety, quality, leadership, and major project consulting—trusted by Fortune 500 companies, blue collar workers and C suite executives alike to foster safe, resilient, and high-performing teams.
